Description: With more than a century of history behind it, the Brakey House distinguishes itself as an architecturally unique property which still holds evidence of distant times and its founders. Built in 1890 and becoming a bed and breakfast only in 1985, the house has a past of its own, being home to some of Ojai’s most significant figures for over nine decades.

Although the inn is trying to keep the charm of a historic Victorian home, it now has all the modern features and amenities one could wish for, embracing all innovations in the comfort and entertainment world. This however, does not inflict any damage to the house’s historical value but rather making it stand out more, in many ways.

Guests can chose from five uniquely decorated rooms, each named after one of the Channel Islands (which are located between Ventura County and Santa Barbara).

Three of them come with bathtubs, private patio and breathtaking views, and are especially appropriate for an enchanting romantic evening.

Breakfast is an important time for the Brakey house, as guests get acquainted to one another and start sharing travel stories while enjoying a Bavarian style, tasty and nutritious breakfast. Being set just three blocks from the ocean and even closer to loads of restaurants and other of Ojai’s points of interests, the inn is offering travelers a multitude of alternative recreation activities.

These include tennis, golf, swimming, fishing and biking. Also, other attractions and special events are available such as the Channel Islands, County Fair Grounds, Street Fairs, parades or special events every weekend.

To sum it all up, I would say that the Brakey House is a wonderful property and a welcoming inn to stay, offering countless opportunities and options for your time; also, the ideal place for the classic values loving traveler, or everyone that is willing to discover or rediscover their timeless charm.
